Denvention 3
Denver won the bid for the 2008 Worldcon, by 12 votes. Chicago came in second, and Columbus third. It was the closest site selection in Worldcon history, apparently. Ohioans please take note: we know many gays and gay-friendly folks who voted against Columbus because of Ohio's repressive laws. This is the second time Columbus has been defeated for a Worldcon bid.
Denvention 3 will be August 6-12, 2008.

I loved the wandering Gnome. I bet that is a fun place to wander around the halls and see costumes. Wheee!
Tom we really missed you at the Toy Show today in Severna Park. It was almost like a mini meeting. At one time there were 11 of us there. I am happy to say I got four ANH Lukes for my collection.
A lot of the customers were locals and one was interested in visiting the Star Toys museum after telling him how close it was. I gave him the website. There was another guy that I could have talked to all day. A cutie for sure. He had a skanky ho woman at his side, but he was interested in armour and we chatted about the 501st.
Anyway, that brings you up to date on life on the east coast. Keep the blogs coming we are enjoyng them!
You can't quite see it in the picture, but way up on the tip of his hat, the wandering gnome had a little propeller. He was a fannish gnome.
I have tried to figure out what the teeshirt in the first picture says...and I can't.
What does it say?
Oh, his tee shirt says, "Jesus is f'ing Metal"
Whatever that means....
